There is a star for the optics. Very cozy tea house. Great location. Delicious tea. A place where you could really feel comfortable. Unfortunately, the service (wife of the owner as I understand it) is very unfriendly and gives you the feeling of not being wanted. According to the motto: I am the owner of the house and you have to do or not what I say. It was afternoon when we entered. There was a "Reserved" sign on each table. There were only other guests at one table. We were received and taken to a table. The annoyed woman dropped a kind of "blackboard" on one of the tables, which later turned out to be the card. This gesture was probably the invitation to take a seat there. Unfortunately, I didn't understand that straight away and wanted to sit down a table. Thank goodness I asked again in a friendly manner: "Go there"? Then came the prompt answer: "No" and if looks could kill, the restaurant would have been spared this review today. There are signs everywhere that are forbidden. "No cell phones, no photos", EUR 25.00 penalty for soiling the ladies' room !!! etc. At the next table the lady explained that since Corona there have been incidents again and again because the ladies don't want to sit down anymore. OK .. but that's why you want to put up such signs and charge 25 euros? How about some surface disinfectant on the toilet? It is very likely that other restaurateurs will also have this problem. I've never seen anything like this anywhere else. We ordered the most expensive tea on the menu and an extra cup and hoped that afterwards we would no longer be seen as supplicants but as potential, good customers. But that has not changed anything in terms of the manners of operation. When the other guests left the restaurant, there was an uncomfortable silence that could not be drowned out by the very tasteful selection of music. There were two other unannounced guests later during the visit. I can't understand whether all the tables were really reserved there or whether this is just another attempt to reprimand the guests. We actually wanted to have a little something to eat, but decided against it for the reasons mentioned. Later I discovered a small sign on the table, at which I wanted to sit down at first with the inscription: "Yes, the table is reserved. If you want to discuss it with me, please invite me to dinner" (analogously). No smiley face or anything. That actually says everything ...
Very nice service. Super delicious cake. We'd love to come back.
Great service, friendly to the north π attentive and courteous. Great decor, fine teas. Gladly again.
MY experience in this business was a rather unfriendly, flippant answer from the waitress when I asked if she could write down the name of a type of tea for me? In an inappropriate tone, she indicated that I should take care of it myself ... The tone was not far from appropriate for me.
Was here the first but certainly not the last time. Delicious tea and nice people and very informative. :-)
Cozy, good, friendly ππ»ππ». Anytime again π€
Don't you want to make any sales? It's a shame we won't be back! The competition was happy.
A very unique shop, the tea sorting is terrific, the homemade cake is very, very tasty, the way of serving is wonderful with a tea clock and pot and a container for the tea bags. I deduct an asterisk for the many "reserved" signs, although nobody is sitting there and the grumpy waitress.
We were told at 4.30 p.m. that it would be closed soon and that it would no longer be possible to accept new guests. The official opening time is Wednesdays 5.30 p.m. A beer or a coffee with cake should therefore be possible in 1 hour. Also, I wasn't even allowed to go to the toilet. For the general cleaning work a fee would of course have been included. It seems that the guests here are selected according to their appearance, in any case we felt very unwelcome. Perhaps the good old stuffiness is more desirable here.
Very cozy! Always lick cake!
Very nice traditional and cozy tea shop with friendly staff and of course with extremely delicious tea. We recommend
From my point of view, recommended. Selection of teas was great, the cakes on offer were also very tasty (had Ostfriesentorte, my sister-in-law had the plum cake). Very friendly staff, nice ambience, the decoration is great. Nice beer garden / terrace. Price-performance ratio is right.
Quaint and cozy tea room with a beautiful sun terrace. The selection of teas on the menu is really good and the tea really tasty! The varieties in the store that are for sale are also very diverse! We'd love to come back!
Actually a super cozy shop. But rude staff, you have to pay for an extra tea cup, everywhere there are signs that everything is prohibited, so that you feel absolutely unwelcome. If you have to use the toilet, there is a huge sign that you have to pay a fine of 25 euros if you do not leave it clean, this is also checked directly by the employee when you are done ...
Complement! Although we were no longer given tea at 2:40 p.m., because you close at 3:00 p.m., the LokaΓΆ is still open in the network
Cozy. The tea is always delicious. A nice conversation is always in there.
A little more cake selection would be great. But the East Frisian cake was very goodπ
Very comfortably furnished, unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try something there. A long exposure with the analog camera was still possible. May be used by the owner for any purpose.
Actually, a cozy cafe with a large selection of tea. Something for every taste and the staff are friendly. However, it happened to me now for the second time that I was informed shortly after serving the pot of tea that will be closed soon (in the summer on Saturdays at 13 clock, today at 17 clock). So, relaxing tea would be more of a quick pour. Maybe somebody should correct the opening times in the network or at least strike the door very clearly. Or you should at least get the information when ordering so that you can set it up.
I recently visited Jever for the first time with a friend on a day trip and by chance came across this great store. We ordered East Frisian tea from the menu and then the lady in the store took wonderful time and explained to us exactly how an East Frisian tea class expires and why and in what order things are added to the tea. Super nice little shop with great tea selection, beautiful garden and nice people. Gladly anytime again!
RUDE waitress πThe tea selection is good. However, I don't think it's a good place to go if you want to relax and enjoy a tea. The place itself is okay, but too noisy. The staff is not friendly. I don't have children, but I don't like to hear bad responses to family with children even when they just arrive asking for a table (no kids were crying or something like that! However the waitress was unfriendly). If they don't want to receive children, they have to make it clear. Furthermore, the sugar pot was dirty. All in all, I don't recommend it. I'll give a second try, if it gets better, I'll let you know.
Great lication, cosy interior, extensive tea selection and freshly made waffles make the place a must-see in Jever.
